ICRIDEV

Inter-religious Dialogue Unit

Headed by a Coordinator

The Centre works to improve relations between religions, to encourage dialogue between people in conflict, and to counteract discrimination and prevent further conflict — including through proposals for religious reconciliation.

Activities

  • Equipping youths, women, men and community leaders, including the clergy, with tools for inter-religious dialogue.
  • Working with different stakeholders to undertake activities that promote and embed these values.
  • Hosting working retreats for religious peacemakers, enabling them to forge lasting collaborations and adopt more effective approaches to inter-religious dialogue and peacebuilding.
  • Raising intercultural and inter-religious sensitivity through the principles of constructive dialogue.

Inter-religious dialogue is an approach that requires respect for other religions and for human rights. ICRIDEV seeks a respect that leads to peaceful coexistence, on the understanding that God created humanity for relationships. The Centre works to mitigate conflicts arising from misunderstood perceptions about different religions, employing proactive measures to pre-empt conflict and to empower independent religious peacemakers through its training programmes.
